The RIDGID 377 (41162) Precision Non-Ratcheting Flare Tool is designed to form 37 deg SAE flares with minimum effort. It is equipped with a hardened steel flaring cone, which is eccentrically mounted in the needle bearings. The cone produces a rolling action for an even metal flow, resulting in uniform flare walls without galling. A clutch automatically releases to iron and smooth the flare after it is completed.
The 377 Flare Tool is recommended for use with soft materials such as aluminum and soft copper. It will also flare steel, stainless steel, hard copper, and brass through a wall thickness of 0.035 inches (0.9 mm).
